A solid 4 lb Hults Bruk axe head with the quality of Swedish forging these old heads are known for. The head is in excellent condition, with a clear maker’s stamp and plenty of steel left to put back to work.
At 4 lb, it sits in a useful middle ground — substantial enough for serious chopping without becoming an all-day punishment. It would make an excellent foundation for a full-size working axe, particularly paired with a well-fitted hardwood handle.
A good old Swedish head doesn’t need much embellishment. The steel speaks for itself.
